Eating around the bush
I recently shared the inside story of Facebook (or Meta if you are used to calling it that now). It was a great piece describing the nuances of product management, and whether you hate facebook or like it, the quality and reach of its product is undeniable and a true testament to its product culture.
Another company which was probably the og in introducing product managers to the world is Google. Frankly I am shocked that for a product newsletter, I share so little of google stories. Maybe thats because there are so many essays and case studies and videos and lectures written by its alumni on it, that it almost feels like I work at google (though of course I wont mind if they want to make it official). Today I am going to share an inside story of a relatively lesser known product story of google - it is what I use daily and one of the best products I have used in my life.
The product is Google Chrome, and like all Google products, it has gone from being an innovator to now being seen as a gateway to the internet, but nevertheless the journey of Chrome has been incredible. As a tab hoarder having 60+ tabs open at any point of time, I still admire the small features I discovery everyday to target my persona.
Its a long and great read! Hope you like it and enjoy the weekend!
