Hello everyone, welcome to a new week of dailyPM. Hope you all had a good weekend and are ready to start your learning journey for the week.
One of the most critical aspects of a product manager’s job is product discovery. If you are like me, let me clarify product discovery does not mean discovering new products (yes I did learn that the hard way). Product discovery is the science or art (depending on who you ask) of figuring out what to build. Regardless of what people say about this art or science, it is something that can be learned with practice. I have tried becoming better at it, and am still trying everyday and I still learn something daily (and unlearn something almost every minute)
I still have not found what I would say is the best resource for product discovery. I have taken bits and pieces from many different forms of content. I always find the prescription in most articles to be too much work or theory, and not really based on reality. Having said that, I did find some of them useful in getting started. I am sharing the same with you today. Do put in comments if you have found resources that explain it better!
Before you go through the links, let me remind again product discovery is complex and it take a few reads to get this internalized and practice. Plus it requires participation from all team members to do it well. So take your time and dont be overwhelmed with the suggestions - you can practice at your own pace.
